The Challenge
EMS are not equipped with proper patient information at the point of an emergency. What technology can you propose to solve this?
Our solution had 3 parts
1. A portable device that can be plugged to an EMS’s tablet/phone.
2. a. An app that users would use to register their information
b. EMS would have a variation of the same app for accessing patient information during emergency.
3. Cloud based monitoring system at the hospital getting real time patient information from EMS en route the hospital.
I designed the app interaction during an emergency. Since the procedure would be time conscious I decided to make the experience simple.
1. Plug device.
2. Unlock with fingerprint.
3. Transmit data.

Reflection
Through this project, I am reminded that UX design is more than just designing digital interfaces. Everything about the user should always be considered. Here we incorporated a hardware device and re-imagined the experience to match with a digital device while factoring time constraints during emergency.
I am also reminded the impact of collaborating and working as a team. My team was so cohesive that it was no surprise we won the 1st position.
